The Foundation is continually working to expand our mission of bringing the sport of golf into the lives of children. Our goals cannot be met without the dedication and support of champions in the community; those that take on the role of a “Site Coordinator” and bring golf to their organization.
Over the winter months, many new groups attended free training sessions to learn more about junior golf programs offered through the Foundation. Attendees were able to meet the staff, discover how to get involved, and receive instruction on how to teach fundamentals. At the end of the 2-hour session, each person received a Site Coordinator Handbook to use as a resource for program planning.
“The training provided by the Kids Golf Foundation gave me as a non-golfer the tools I needed to know how to use the equipment appropriately and understand the concepts,” said a recent attendee.
Training Sessions were typically held at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. However, staff also travelled to cities including Carpentersville and Chicago to meet with various school districts and youth organizations.
The Foundation will be offering more training sessions this spring and fall; below are the upcoming dates:
Please contact the Foundation at (630) 466-0913 or firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week prior to the desired date you would like to attend. If you are unable to make any of the above Training Session dates, staff can make arrangements to meet with your organization individually.
